Argentine football pundit, Alejandro Moreno, has dismissed Lionel Messi’s claim that Cristian Romero is the best centre-back in the world. After an impressive performance in Argentina’s World Cup qualifier against Bolivia, Romero received praise from his teammates and even drew comparisons to “He-Man” from the national team coach, Lionel Scaloni.
However, when asked about Messi’s comments, Moreno laughed off the suggestion on ESPN FC, stating, “No, is the answer to that. No, I don’t agree with Lionel Messi. I assume so (Messi gassing up his own player). That’s diesel gas right there.”
Moreno’s response indicates his disagreement with Messi’s opinion, insinuating that Messi may be biased in his praise for his own teammate. The pundit’s dismissal suggests that he does not believe Romero deserves the title of the world’s best centre-back.
