Talented Player’s agent, Jonathan Herrera, has disclosed that the striker experienced a challenging period after Aston Villa prevented him from participating in the Under-20 World Cup. Despite being included in Colombia’s preliminary squad, Duran was unable to represent his country due to Unai Emery’s belief that his presence was needed at Villa. This decision by the club aimed to secure European qualification last season, causing Duran to feel heartbroken. Taking to social media, Duran apologized for not being able to partake in the prestigious tournament and sent his wishes to his teammates. Herrera expressed how difficult this situation was for Duran, who had been eagerly waiting for the opportunity to represent Colombia and was an integral part of the U20 team under Héctor Cárdenas. Nevertheless, Duran also considered the chance to play for Aston Villa and the potential of playing in the Premier League. Despite the disappointment, his return to the national team later and his debut goal for Villa ultimately provided some solace. Despite the challenging circumstances, Duran’s absence from the U20 national team was a consequence of the momentary situation.
