Academy Graduate Embarks on a Journey Down Memory Lane

In an exclusive interview, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, a graduate from Leicester City’s Academy, opened up about his footballing journey and reflected on his time at his local club, Shepshed Dynamo FC. The 25-year-old midfielder returned to Dovecote Stadium, the home of his childhood team, and expressed why it still holds a special place in his heart.

As he sat down at the stadium, Dewsbury-Hall spoke fondly about his beginnings in football, which started at Shepshed Dynamo FC. He emphasized the importance of the club in shaping his career and expressed his delight in visiting the stadium and seeing how they are doing.

“This is where my journey began, my hometown club, the first club I ever played for,” he shared. “It’s quite nostalgic to come back and witness their progress, and to see the stadium and the pitch again.”

Growing up just a stone’s throw away from the club, Dewsbury-Hall described the close-knit nature of the community. His family home was only a two-minute drive from the stadium, and his school was just a minute away. Everything was within walking distance, creating a sense of unity and familiarity.

“I try to come down here whenever there’s a game on,” he added.

At the age of eight, Dewsbury-Hall joined the Foxes’ Academy, marking the beginning of his journey with Leicester City. He steadily progressed through the ranks, representing both the Under-18s and Under-21s teams. His debut for the senior team came in the Emirates FA Cup match against Brentford in 2020.

Reflecting on that unforgettable experience at Griffin Park, Dewsbury-Hall acknowledged how it propelled him towards becoming a regular member of the first team at his beloved club.

“It’s still one of the best days of my life,” he revealed. “I’ll never forget that day. I even have the shirt I wore framed. It felt like the start of my journey. So much has happened since then in the past three-and-a-half years.”

The midfielder emphasized how quickly time has flown by but cherished the memory of his debut. He described the overwhelming joy and satisfaction of making his Leicester debut, which served as a significant source of motivation for him.

“That day will forever be etched in my memory,” Dewsbury-Hall said with a smile. “The feeling of making my Leicester debut was indescribable. It gave me a tremendous amount of motivation to keep pushing myself.”
