Leicester City players graded for season so far as two new signings and surprise star lead way

Enzo Maresca has overseen Leicester City’s best-ever league start in the Championship, with 10 wins in 11 games. The impressive aspect of their success is that it’s difficult to single out a star player. The team’s achievements have been a result of their collective efforts and adherence to Maresca’s tactics.

However, there are a few players who have stood out in the opening two months. Mads Hermansen has been a standout performer, bringing a new dimension to City’s play with his passing ability and composure on the ball. His impact has been like having an extra player on the pitch. Despite a small error at Blackburn, he has been brilliant overall.

Jakub Stolarczyk, a young Pole, has risen up the pecking order under Maresca’s management and has shown promise in his limited appearances. He kept clean sheets in his first three games and although he may not be as proficient on the ball as Hermansen, he is a capable deputy.

Ricardo Pereira has adapted well to a new role and has displayed his talent by being calm, accurate in his passing, and tactically aware. He excels in defending against wingers but could add more of his trademark dribbles up the pitch to further establish himself as one of the division’s best players.

James Justin has become Maresca’s preferred choice in the absence of the injured Doyle. While he may not have reached the heights he achieved prior to his knee injury, he has been solid and provides defensive strength along with occasional bursts of energy going forward.

Overall, Leicester City’s success is a collective effort, but these players have shined in the opening two months of the campaign.
