Leicester City team news v Swansea: Fatawu and Vardy preferred to Yunus and Iheanacho in attack

In their quest for a seventh consecutive Championship victory and a sixth consecutive win on the road, Leicester City reveals their lineup at the Swansea.com Stadium, as Enzo Maresca takes charge.

Abdul Fatawu secures his spot on the right wing, edging out Yunus Akgun as Maresca finalizes his team to face Swansea. The young Ghanaian talent joins Jamie Vardy and Stephy Mavididi in the front trio. Those who trained at Seagrave during the international break are given the nod over their counterparts, with Yunus and Kelechi Iheanacho placed on the substitutes’ bench.

The defense remains unchanged, with Jannik Vestergaard successfully keeping Conor Coady out of the starting lineup. Wout Faes partners Vestergaard at the back, while Ricardo Pereira and James Justin take their positions as full-backs. Wilfred Ndidi returns swiftly from his national team duties with Nigeria, joining Harry Winks and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall in the midfield.

Maresca’s selection offers no major surprises and may be considered his strongest lineup. Leicester City aims to achieve a historic club record with their seventh consecutive Championship victory and sixth straight win away from home.

However, it is essential to note that Swansea presents a tougher challenge than their mid-table position might imply, given their recent form of four consecutive victories. They are undoubtedly one of the most in-form teams in the current division.

Leicester City Lineup (4-3-3): Hermansen; Ricardo, Faes, Vestergaard, Justin; Winks, Ndidi, Dewsbury-Hall; Fatawu, Vardy, Mavididi. Substitutes: Stolarczyk, Souttar, Coady, Choudhury, Casadei, Yunus, Albrighton, Iheanacho, Daka.
