According to a recent report from Calciomercato, it seems that Tottenham Hotspur has their sights set on Juventus left-back Andrea Cambiaso. Rumor has it that Spurs are considering making a move to sign the talented Italian in the upcoming year.
Cambiaso has been delivering consistent performances for Juventus at the Allianz Stadium, particularly on the left side of the defense. Despite mostly coming off the bench, the 23-year-old has managed to make an impact, scoring one goal and providing one assist in nine appearances across various competitions this season.
In Serie A, Cambiaso has been impressive, averaging 1.1 tackles, 0.7 clearances, 0.7 shots, 0.6 key passes, and 0.6 dribbles per 90 minutes. Furthermore, he has shown accuracy in his distribution, boasting a pass completion rate of 88.9% in the Italian top-flight.
One of Cambiaso’s notable strengths lies in his ability to tackle effectively, especially when the opposition is on the attack. Additionally, he possesses the power to unleash long-range shots and create opportunities for his teammates from the left flank.
Although primarily utilized as a left-back, the Italian talent is versatile enough to play as a left-winger or even as a right-back if necessary.
Cambiaso has the potential to bring significant quality to Tottenham’s defense under the guidance of head coach Angelos Postecoglu. Considering his age, there is still ample room for him to develop as a footballer, making him an appealing prospect for Spurs in the upcoming transfer window.
However, it remains to be seen whether Cambiaso can adapt to the physicality and high intensity of English football if he eventually makes the move to Tottenham.
