Sad: Enzo Maresca now confirms two key Leicester City players will miss Leeds United match

Ahead of the crucial clash against Leeds United, Enzo Maresca has confirmed that Leicester City will be missing both Wilfred Ndidi and Yunus Akgun. Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Maresca provided updates on several players.

Ndidi has been absent for the past two matches due to muscle tightness that initially started before the win over Sunderland. Unfortunately, the issue has worsened and he will now be sidelined until the international break.

Akgun has also been unavailable for the last two matches after sustaining an injury during Leicester’s victory over Swansea City on October 21. Despite hopes of his return for the Leeds game, he has suffered a setback and will remain absent.

According to Leicestershire Live, Akgun had returned to training earlier in the week but experienced a reaction, leaving him unable to participate. He now joins Ndidi, Will Alves, and Callum Doyle on the sidelines.

Maresca explained, “Unfortunately, Yunus felt something, so he won’t be available. Wilf will be out until the international break due to a minor muscle problem. We don’t want to take any risks. On a positive note, Tom and Kasey are back with us, which is good news. However, there is also some bad news.”

Leicester possesses impressive squad depth in all positions, making it likely that the replacements for these players will perform just as well. Currently, they hold a comfortable 14-point lead over Leeds at the top of the table, having garnered an impressive 39 out of a possible 42 points. Their exceptional start to the season has set new records.

Considering this, Leeds will be aware that they cannot afford to fall further behind their Friday opponents, even in the early stages of the campaign.
