Daniel Farke would take certain Leicester players at Leeds United right now after win

According to Phil Hay, despite Leeds United emerging victorious with a 1-0 win over Leicester City, Daniel Farke would still be interested in acquiring certain players from the Foxes. The match, played on Friday, 3 November at the King Power Stadium, saw Georginio Rutter score the winning goal for the Whites.

Both Leeds and Leicester suffered relegation to the Championship and are now vying to secure promotion back to the Premier League. Hay, writing in the Athletic on 4 November, explained, “There are players at Leicester who Farke would take and players at Leeds who would appeal to Maresca; two squads with the class to get out of Dodge.”

On paper, Leeds and Leicester boast the two strongest squads in the Championship and were tipped by many to gain automatic promotion. However, uncertainties regarding player futures behind the scenes hindered Leeds’ start to the season, unlike the Foxes.

Enzo Maresca’s side took advantage of this situation, surpassing Leeds and the rest of the Championship. It would be a great surprise if they fail to escape the dogfight and secure promotion.

Leeds, on the other hand, must maintain their consistency, as they are within reach of second place. If they continue winning matches, they can achieve promotion sooner rather than later.

The team needs to avoid any further fitness issues, as this has the potential to result in a decline in performance. Thus far, Farke has done an exceptional job navigating the team through challenging circumstances, making him the perfect candidate to lead Leeds back to the top flight.
