Tottenham, Newcastle join Barcelona in race to sign Leicester midfielder; Brentford & Aston Villa also interested

Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has drawn the attention of Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United, who have now joined Barcelona in the pursuit to sign the talented player. As reported by TEAMtalk, Aston Villa and Brentford are also closely monitoring Ndidi as the January transfer window approaches.

Despite currently playing in the Championship, Ndidi boasts a wealth of experience in the Premier League, having made 192 appearances for Leicester City before their relegation last season. With his contract with Leicester City expiring soon, the Nigerian international will have the option to enter into a pre-contract agreement with a European club in January.

Leicester City is making efforts to secure a new contract for the 26-year-old midfielder, but negotiations are yet to yield any significant progress. The club remains hopeful that Ndidi will commit to a new deal before the conclusion of the season. In the meantime, Ndidi has been a crucial player for Leicester City, contributing to seven goals in 15 appearances as the club aims for an immediate return to the Premier League.

European clubs, including Atletico Madrid, Lyon, and Monaco, have also been linked with a potential move for Ndidi. However, an ongoing muscle injury has sidelined him, ruling him out of contention for the Super Eagles squad in the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifying matches against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
