Enzo Maresca gives return date for Injured midfielder ahead of weekend clash

Leicester City boss Enzo Maresca addressed the media on Friday morning to discuss his team’s upcoming EFL Championship match against Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium, highlighting the injury situation.

The Nigeria Football Federation revealed the squad for the Super Eagles’ forthcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe, with key players Victor Osimhen, Samuel Chukwueze, Wilfred Ndidi, and Zaidu Sanusi not included.

Ndidi had a scan before Leicester City’s last game and was advised to rest until further tests could be carried out. Subsequent examinations showed that the midfielder was dealing with a more serious muscular injury than initially thought.

Maresca specified that Ndidi is expected to return after the international break, alongside fellow injured player, Yunus. Additionally, he mentioned that Dennis is progressing in training but Callum remains sidelined.

Before his injury, Ndidi had been in excellent form, with three goals and four assists in 15 matches across all competitions.
