Injury Update on Leicester top player ahead of Middlesbrough clash- Enzo Maresca comment

Cannon, 20, made a permanent move to the King Power Stadium from Everton this summer, but has been unable to play for the Foxes this season due to a stress fracture in his back.

The English-born Irish forward is highly valued by Maresca’s team and has recently returned from the injury after a two-month break.

The Foxes are preparing to face high-flying Middlesbrough this Saturday and Maresca has mentioned that Cannon may make an appearance in Leicester’s squad against Boro.

He is pleased to see Cannon participating in training sessions, but also mentioned that the Irish star has not yet reached the physical fitness required to play a full 90-minute match.

“Yes, finally,” Maresca said at a press conference when asked about Cannon’s availability.

“But now he has been with us for a week and he might be part of the squad tomorrow.

“After two months out, he is fit and could play tomorrow, but not for the full 90 minutes.”

As the leaders of the Championship standings, Leicester suffered a setback against Leeds United last week.

They are now aiming to get back to winning ways and solidify their position at the top of the league table.
