Disappointing Man United display could spell trouble for Sunderland and Leicester in January

Sunderland and Leicester City may have cause for concern after Facundo Pellistri’s performance off the bench in Manchester United’s crucial Champions League match against Galatasaray. The match was a must-win for United, who had been struggling in the competition and despite taking an early lead, they failed to secure the victory, ending in a 3-3 draw.

Pellistri, who played 12 minutes in the game, had several opportunities to make a difference but failed to capitalize on them. His performance raises questions about his readiness for first-team football at United, which could have implications for potential loan deals with EFL clubs like Leicester and Sunderland.

With Pellistri’s underwhelming displays, there are concerns about his future at United, especially with the impending return of Amad Diallo from injury. If Diallo surpasses him in the pecking order, it could make it difficult for Leicester and Sunderland to secure a loan deal for Pellistri in January.

Last season, Diallo had successful loan spell with Sunderland, scoring 13 goals in the Championship and there were reports that he would prefer to return to the club for his rehabilitation. Both Leicester and Sunderland may miss out on the opportunity to sign Pellistri due to his struggles, as Amad could potentially take his place in the United squad.
