Leicester City, Norwich City and Real Madrid set battle for League One starlet: ready to sign

The impressive young talent of Reading, Caylan Vickers, has caught the eye of Championship teams Norwich City and Leicester City, as well as the powerhouse club Real Madrid, as detailed in a report by The Sun.

Reading had aimed for a top six finish this season to quickly return to the second tier, but things haven’t gone according to plan. Currently sitting in 23rd place with just five wins in 19 games, the club has given opportunities to their youth players, with Vickers standing out in particular. This has attracted attention from other clubs.

According to The Sun’s report, both Norwich City and Leicester City are keeping a close watch on the 18-year-old forward. However, it appears that Real Madrid is the leading contender to secure Vickers, with a potential price tag as low as £1 million.

While playing time may be limited at Real Madrid, this opportunity presents Vickers with the chance to progress through their academy and potentially play for one of the biggest clubs in the world. Although Leicester City and Norwich City may offer more playing time, a loan move could be a possibility if he joins Real Madrid.

With Reading’s struggles in League One, the potential £1 million transfer fee could greatly benefit them in securing deals for additional players to improve their position in the league. However, hindering Vickers’ move to Real Madrid may prove to be a challenge regardless.
