According to a report from UOL (via Sport Witness), Leicester City is prepared to outbid Zenit St Petersburg for the transfer of Lucas Beraldo. The team is gearing up for the upcoming transfer window with hopes of strengthening their squad. This is particularly important for Championship teams like Enzo Maresca’s, who are aiming for promotion to the Premier League but face tough competition. Ipswich Town and Leeds United are also in the running for automatic promotion. Despite the recent stumbles of Leeds United, Leicester cannot afford to be complacent.
Leicester City has had success in the transfer market, generating funds from player sales in the summer, including departures of players like Harvey Barnes and James Maddison. Beraldo has been linked with a January move to Leicester, with the club reportedly willing to outbid Zenit’s offer of $18m. São Paulo is holding out for at least $20m for the 20-year-old defender.
