Manchester City are reportedly considering another attempt to sign West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta in the January transfer window. According to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth, City are set to make a fresh proposal for the Brazilian playmaker as they look to challenge West Ham’s determination to keep him. A potential £80 million deal for Paqueta fell through over the summer due to a betting investigation by the FA, but City are now keen to revisit negotiations and see if they can bring him to the Etihad Stadium. Pep Guardiola views Paqueta as a potential long-term successor for Kevin De Bruyne and is eager to complete the deal, despite the player’s stunning form for West Ham this season.
