Tottenham link plot to hijack Chelsea playmaker amid Newcastle and West Ham interest in signing same player

The young talent from England is rumored to leave Chelsea with the opening of the January transfer window. The 23-year-old has become an impressive player for the club, even being named captain by Mauricio Pochettino for some games.

He has played 23 games and contributed to four goals throughout the season. Despite this, there are persistent rumors that Conor Gallagher might leave Stamford Bridge, with Tottenham, Newcastle, and West Ham showing interest.

Spurs are not currently in negotiations with Chelsea for Gallagher, although this could change as the transfer window progresses. With the future of midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg uncertain, Tottenham’s stance could shift.

Pochettino has admitted that Gallagher’s future essentially depends on the club’s decision and not his as to whether the England international stays or not. He believes that Gallagher is an essential player for the club due to his values and commitment.

Former Spurs boss stated, “He came from the academy and knows the identity of the club and he is very committed. You can see on the pitch how he runs, plays, and fights. He gives everything and he is a really important player. All coaching staff want this type of player in their team.”

Football pundit Jermaine Jenas expressed his belief that Gallagher should not be allowed to leave the club as his character and influence are valuable to the team. Fellow pundit Rio Ferdinand also agreed, stating that Gallagher’s character and understanding of Chelsea are important for the club.
