Sixteen-year-old Ethan Fitzhugh made a name for himself playing for Leicester City’s first team in a pre-season game and was even named as a substitute for a Europa League match against Sporting Braga. However, he has now made a permanent move to Banbury United, a team in the National League North.
Fitzhugh has been a consistent player at the development squad level for many years but is now making the leap to the sixth-tier Banbury United. Even though he never made a senior appearance for City, he has been a key player in the development squad, playing 35 games and scoring four goals. His journey was put on hold due to an ACL injury, but he has since recovered and is eager to start his senior career with Banbury United.
His move to Banbury United also brings the opportunity to work alongside former City academy striker Adi Yussuf, who is now coaching at Seagrave. The Banbury boss, Mark Jones, has high hopes for Fitzhugh, believing that he will bring creativity and excitement to the team’s attack.
