Tottenham Hotspur are close to finalizing a surprising transfer by securing the loan signing of former Chelsea striker Timo Werner.
Werner, who struggled during his time at Chelsea, is set to depart RB Leipzig this January and has been linked with a move to Manchester United. However, it appears that Tottenham will emerge as the victors in the race for Werner.

After Chelsea paid £47.5m for Werner in 2020, his time at the club was plagued by a lack of confidence and goals, leading to his departure. Since then, Werner has struggled to find the back of the net, with just two goals in 14 appearances this season.
Bringing in Werner is a calculated risk for Tottenham and manager Ange Postecoglou. Postecoglou sees Werner as a player with pace who can contribute to the team’s counterattacking style, similar to Brennan Johnson.
