Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou personally called Timo Werner to sell a move to Spurs to him.
Tottenham is set to finalize a loan deal with RB Leipzig for Werner, which will include an option for Spurs to sign him permanently. While some may question the move due to Werner’s previous struggles at Chelsea, manager Postecoglou has expressed confidence in the German player.
According to reports from German newspaper Lepiziger Volkszeitung, Postecoglou personally reached out to Werner and the two had a conversation about the player’s future at Tottenham. Postecoglou’s plans for Werner and the role he would play in the team left a positive impression on the player, who is now ready to make the move to Tottenham.
RB Leipzig is also welcoming the move, as they have had difficulty integrating Werner into their squad this season despite his high salary. With only two goals in 14 appearances, Werner will be looking to rediscover his form at Tottenham.
