REPORT: Arsenal, Brentford join Chelsea, Leicester in race to sign Talented youngster

Two additional English teams have expressed interest in signing David Odogu, a defender eligible to play for the Flying Eagles.

As reported by the German transfer market website Fussballtransfers, and noted by Sky Germany, Arsenal and Brentford are both vying for the 2023 Fifa U17 World Cup and European U17 Championship winner from Germany. Previously, Chelsea and Leicester City were also mentioned as potential suitors for the VfL Wolfsburg player.

Odogu made a name for himself during the World Cup in Indonesia, proving himself as a formidable force in the centre of defense. Known for his physical strength, speed, and tackling ability, he has drawn comparisons to former Chelsea player Antonio Rüdiger, now with Real Madrid.

While Odogu is open to a possible transfer in the upcoming January window, VfL Wolfsburg is aiming to keep hold of him until at least the end of the season. Currently on a youth team contract, the 17-year-old is set to upgrade to a professional contract when he turns eighteen on June 3, 2024.
