RB Leipzig loanee Timo Werner has expressed his admiration for Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecolgou after making the move to the club. The loan deal sees Werner join Spurs for the remainder of the season, with the possibility of a permanent transfer for around £15.5million at the end of the season. Werner may make his debut for Tottenham against Manchester United and will need to quickly adapt to Postecoglou’s unique approach to football. Postecoglou’s emphasis on pace in the final third has already been evident in Tottenham’s signing of Brennan Johnson, and now with Werner joining the squad, there is a hope for the striker to rediscover his form. Werner credited his decision to join Tottenham to his conversation with Postecoglou, who outlined his tactics and playing style, convincing Werner that Tottenham was the right fit for him. It is expected that Werner will play as a striker in Postecoglou’s system but his versatility also provides options for playing on the left flank if needed. With Postecoglou already impressing Tottenham fans, there is hope that he can work his magic and revitalize Werner’s career.
