INJURY CRISIS ON VARDY: Enzo Maresca issues Jamie Vardy update as Leicester City given double injury boost

CoventryLive’s injury update brings good news for Leicester City as they prepare to take on Coventry City at the CBS Arena. Kasey McAteer and Dennis Praet are both fit to return to face the Sky Blues, providing a double injury boost for the Foxes.

McAteer, who has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since the win at West Brom over a month ago, is set to make his comeback. Meanwhile, Praet, who hasn’t played since the victory over Rotherham just before Christmas, is also ready to return to action.

However, Jamie Vardy remains unavailable due to a knee injury, although he is making progress in his recovery. Manager Enzo Maresca confirmed that Vardy won’t be in the squad for the upcoming game against Coventry City.

In addition, Kele Iheanacho, while close to fitness, will also be missing from the squad as he is set to join Nigeria’s squad for the Africa Cup of Nations. Leicester will also be without Patson Daka and Harry Souttar, who are away representing Zambia and Australia at Afcon and the Asian Cup respectively.

The injury update also includes Wilfred Ndidi, who is expected to be out until April with a serious muscle injury, and Will Alves, who is back in partial training but not yet available for consideration for the upcoming match.
