THOUGH TRANSFER DECISION: Michael Beale responds to West Ham transfer interest in Sunderland star

Sunderland’s head coach Michael Beale has made it clear that any attempts to sign their sought-after winger Jack Clarke in January would not be welcome.

Reports suggest that the 23-year-old, who previously played for Tottenham, has caught the eye of several Premier League teams due to his impressive performances this season.

Despite interest from clubs such as West Ham, Crystal Palace, and Brentford, Sunderland is determined to keep Clarke for the rest of the season. However, it is believed that a bid of over £20m could change their stance.

Beale stated, “I want my players to excel and it’s natural for there to be speculation when they perform at a high level every week in the Championship. While I haven’t received any direct inquiries for him, I wouldn’t be open to them. We want Jack to stay at Sunderland and contribute to our efforts this season. I have been thoroughly impressed by him.”
