Leicester City is cutting Luke Thomas’ loan deal with Sheffield United short, as the Blades confirm their second January loan exit. The Championship league leaders have decided to recall Thomas from his loan at Sheffield United, approaching their relegation from the top division.While Leicester City has been flying high, Sheffield United has struggled to find their footing in the Premier League and currently sits in the relegation zone. Thomas, 22, has only made 12 appearances for Sheffield United and has had his contract terminated by mutual consent.Despite the Blades’ struggles, fans are hopeful for a turnaround with Chris Wilder’s return to the club. However, Thomas, who has played 85 games for Leicester, has not featured in the first four Championship games of the season.Meanwhile, Sheffield United has signed striker Ben Brereton Díaz on loan from Villarreal for the rest of the season. The 24-year-old, who joined Villarreal after his contract at Blackburn expired, is eager to make an impact.
