Alex Crook, a journalist, predicts that Chelsea might make a move to sign Kyle Walker-Peters from Southampton in the Championship. It is reported that Chelsea had previously shown interest in signing the full-back when he was with the Saints in the Premier League but chose to go a different route in the transfer market at that time. However, Crook believes that Chelsea’s current injury problems, particularly with Reece James, could prompt them to consider making a move for Walker-Peters. With James set to spend several months on the sidelines due to surgery on his hamstring, the responsibility will fall heavily on Malo Gusto. However, Crook suggests that Walker-Peters could be a valuable addition to provide cover at both right and left-back positions, especially with Ben Chilwell also facing time on the sidelines. It remains to be seen if Chelsea will make a move for Walker-Peters before the end of the transfer window.
