DEVASTATING: Fabrizio Romano reveals Tottenham’s second-highest-paid player could leave in the coming days

According to Fabrizio Romano, there is still a possibility that Ivan Perisic could depart from Tottenham Hotspur before the end of the ongoing January transfer window.

Despite already securing Timo Werner on a loan deal and bringing in Radu Dragusin permanently, as well as offloading the wages of Hugo Lloris and Eric Dier, Perisic might also be on the way out.

Romano reported that Ivan Perisic, who was signed as a free transfer from Inter Milan in the summer of 2022, is earning a hefty weekly salary of £180,000. This makes him the second-highest-paid player at Tottenham after Son Heung-min.

Unfortunately, Perisic has been plagued by injury this season, with a serious ACL injury keeping him out of action until possibly next season. Romano stated that it is highly unlikely that Perisic will play for Tottenham again, as there is strong interest from Hajduk Split to sign him in the current transfer window.

While Ivan Perisic would have been a valuable asset to Tottenham, especially given his crossing ability and versatility, his injury status renders it impractical for the club to retain him. It may be in everyone’s best interest to reach an agreement to terminate his contract and allow him to leave on a free transfer in the near future.
