Leicester City’s Development Squad suffered a 2-1 loss to Reading in Premier League 2 on Monday night. After two consecutive draws, the Under-21s faced off against the Royals at Bearwood Training Ground in Berkshire. Manager Ben Petty made three changes from their previous match against Newcastle United. Despite a goalless first half, Tawanda Maswanhise, who had debuted for the senior team earlier in the month, scored a goal in the 68th minute to give Leicester the lead. However, the experienced Reading side fought back and Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan equalized with just over 15 minutes left to play. Ultimately, Caylan Vickers scored in the closing minutes to secure a win for the hosts. This loss puts City in 21st place in the 26-team PL2 table. They will look to bounce back when they face Southampton at LCFC Training Ground in their next league match on Monday, January 29th.
