Leeds United are rumored to be considering a last-minute loan deal to acquire Tottenham Hotspur defender Ben Davies.
According to The Athletic, Leeds is interested in signing Davies on loan if he becomes available. Davies has been a key player for Ange Postecoglou’s squad this season, making 14 appearances in the Premier League due to injuries to Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero.
Although Van de Ven and Romero returned to action and Spurs signed Radu Dragusin from Genoa, Leeds is still reportedly keeping an eye on Davies as a potential transfer option before the deadline.
While the chances of Tottenham allowing Davies to leave are considered “incredibly unlikely,” Leeds has already secured loan deals for Joe Rodon and Djed Spence from Tottenham this season. Although Spence’s move didn’t work out, Rodon has performed well at Elland Road.
Davies, who has been a dependable performer for Tottenham, is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury but is expected to return within four to six weeks. Unless Tottenham acquires a new center-back, it seems unlikely that Leeds will be able to secure a loan deal for Davies.
