David Ornstein reports that West Ham United is interested in signing Armando Broja this month after Chelsea’s decision to sell him permanently. According to the reliable Athletic journalist, the Blues are open to a sale without the condition of signing a replacement.
The clubs most interested in the Albania striker are West Ham, Fulham, and Wolves, with David Moyes showing a long-term interest in him since before his ACL injury in 2022.
Ornstein wrote, “Chelsea willing to let Armando Broja leave permanently if a suitable offer is received. Interest from multiple clubs including Fulham, West Ham, and Wolves. Not contingent on Chelsea signing replacement and Nkunku expected back soon.”
With West Ham needing a striker for a while now, Broja could be a shrewd acquisition. There is no indication of what Chelsea would consider a “suitable offer” at this stage. After failed attempts to sign Broja and the injury, the club moved for Gianluca Scamacca, but with Michail Antonio and Danny Ings not having a long-term future at the London Stadium, Broja should be a great option again.
He has proven his fitness after his injury and played fairly regularly for Chelsea this season, but struggled to find the back of the net. With regular game time and trust, he could easily excel.
