TRANSFER HEAT: Tottenham and Arsenal to battle for history making LaLiga winger

Arsenal and Tottenham are both eyeing a potential transfer battle as they set their sights on Real Sociedad’s Ander Barrenetxea. The 22-year-old winger has caught the attention of both North London clubs with his impressive performances in La Liga this season.

Barrenetxea made his debut in La Liga at just 16 years old, becoming the first player born in the 21st century to feature in the Spanish top flight. This season, he has been a key player for Real Sociedad, contributing with four goals and six assists in 22 matches. His skilful dribbling and dead ball ability have made him a prime target for Arsenal and Tottenham.

Scouts from both clubs will closely monitor Barrenetxea in Real Sociedad’s upcoming derby clash against Athletic Bilbao, as the race for his signature heats up. Tottenham, under the management of Ange Postecoglou, have already secured the loan signing of Timo Werner and adding Barrenetxea would further boost their attacking options.

Postecoglou has drawn comparisons between Barrenetxea and Jota, a player he coached at Celtic, suggesting he sees the Spaniard as a valuable addition to his system. As the North London rivals gear up for a potential transfer battle, the upcoming derby could serve as a showcase for Barrenetxea’s talents and influence the direction of the transfer battle.
