DEAL IN PROGRESS:rivals transfer decision paves way for Leicester City as ‘on the verge’ update emerges on potential January move

The latest Leicester City transfer news as progress is reported to be made on a potential January move for Sensi

Leicester City’s quest to secure a deal for Italian midfielder Stefano Sensi appears to be on the verge of completion following the departure of Cesare Casadei. The club has been eyeing Sensi for several weeks, as revealed by Enzo Maresca in a recent press conference. However, the deal has been delayed due to the need to offload players before bringing in new ones during this window. The only departure prior to this week was goalkeeper Daniel Iversen’s loan move to Stoke City for the remainder of the season. However, the unexpected recall of Chelsea loanee Cesare Casadei has left the team short on midfield options, especially with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall facing injury doubts ahead of Monday’s match against Ipswich Town. With Casadei’s departure, it seems that Leicester City will now be able to finalize a deal for Sensi. Journalist Fabrizio Romano has indicated that Enzo Maresca is keen on bringing Sensi to the team and that the Italian midfielder is close to joining Leicester City. Romano also stated that Inter will receive a fee of around €2m once Leicester City submits their final proposal, indicating that Sensi has already agreed to personal terms with the club.Although Sensi will not be available for Monday’s clash against Ipswich, Maresca may have to rely on Yunus Akgun and Dennis Praet as his midfield options for the match. Despite the delay in completing the deal, it appears that Leicester City is moving closer to securing Sensi’s signature.
