The battle for Aston Villa talented forward Jhon Duran is heating up, with both West Ham United and Chelsea vying for his services. According to The Sun, Villa is standing firm on their stance of only considering a big offer, rather than a loan deal, for the 20-year-old forward.
While Chelsea has expressed admiration for Duran, West Ham United has surprised many with an inquiry for the Colombian international. Duran is reportedly seeking more playing time and may be open to a move to the Hammers.
However, in my opinion, West Ham United should reconsider signing Duran. At just 20 years old and with limited Premier League experience, I don’t see him significantly improving the team in the short term. He has only scored two goals in 26 appearances for Villa and has yet to start a match this season. With these factors in mind, I believe the Hammers should look elsewhere for reinforcements.
