West Ham is in the process of setting up a £50million deal to bring Bayer Leverkusen striker Victory Boniface to the team in January, with the idea being driven by David Moyes, as reported by Alan Nixon.
According to Nixon via Patreon [21 January], Moyes is eager to secure a significant transfer for an established striker in January, and Tim Steidten is working to negotiate a deal with his former club.
Additionally, Nixon suggests that Danny Ings and Michail Antonio might leave the London Stadium in order to balance the books, with the possibility of Said Benrahma also departing.
Among the various strikers West Ham has been considering in the January transfer window, Boniface is undoubtedly the most appealing option.
With ten goals and seven assists in just 16 Bundesliga matches (16 goals and 8 assists in all competitions), Boniface is at the top of the Hammers’ shortlist as a number nine and is well worth the £50million investment.
Moyes is prepared to make a significant investment in this deal, and the potential departure of Benrahma and Ings could help to balance the team’s finances. It seems like a no-brainer for the transfer team at the London Stadium to make this happen.
Not only are Boniface’s stats impressive, but at just 23 years old, he has ample room to continue developing and improving his game in East London, possibly cementing himself as one of Europe’s top strikers.
Although the potential departures of Ings and Antonio may leave West Ham with limited options up front, Boniface would be able to start most of the games with Bowen as his backup.
