While Richarlison has recently found his form with six goals in his last six Premier League appearances, there are still questions about his consistency as a goal scorer. With Harry Kane’s departure, Postecoglou is seeking a reliable source of goals and sees Gimenez as a potential solution.
The coach aims to recreate the successful partnership that Kane and Heung-min Son had, with the South Korean forward now potentially finding a new striking partner in Gimenez. Son and Kane had an impressive record-breaking partnership, combining for 47 goals over the years and holding the record for the most combinations between two players in a single Premier League season.
Kane’s prolific goal-scoring record at Tottenham was complemented by Son’s creativity and assists. Postecoglou hopes to replicate this success with Gimenez and Son forming a formidable attacking duo for Tottenham.
