TRANSFER HIJACK: Chelsea will regret letting Tottenham sign £25m player once deal is done

In recent days, reports have surfaced that Chelsea may lose out on a signing they’ve had their eyes on since the summer transfer window. Making matters worse is the fact that one of their closest rivals in the Premier League could be the fortunate recipients of the transfer.

Tottenham has proven to be very shrewd in their dealings during the last two transfer windows. Chelsea was left wondering why they didn’t swoop for James Maddison when they had the chance, ultimately watching him join Spurs instead. Now, it seems Tottenham is once again leading the race for another coveted player, Antonio Nusa from Club Brugge.

A transfer fee of about £25m has been thrown around, and Chelsea made a late attempt in the summer window to bring him to Stamford Bridge. Nusa himself acknowledged the interest from Chelsea and was surprised by the amount they were willing to pay for him.

Despite discussions at Stamford Bridge about signing him, the news of Tottenham’s interest has surely expedited their decision-making process. Chelsea has a history of snatching up top talent before their rivals, but missing out on Nusa is a risk they may not be able to afford.

Nusa has demonstrated his potential both at the club and international levels, and any team that secures his services for the upcoming seasons will surely be pleased with their acquisition.
