DEAL COMPLETED: West Ham beat Crystal as first choice to seal deal with transfer target; Crystal Palace submit bid for plan B

Crystal Palace has made a move to secure Blackburn Rovers midfielder Adam Wharton with a £15 million bid, as they missed out on Kalvin Phillips, who is set to join West Ham on loan with an option to buy. The Eagles are looking to strengthen their midfield and avoid relegation, and Wharton, who made his senior debut for Rovers at just 17 years old, is their top target for the winter transfer window.

Despite initial interest in Phillips, Crystal Palace was unable to secure a deal and has now shifted their focus to Wharton. The news confirms that the Phillips deal with West Ham is happening, and Palace played their hand early to try and secure the midfielder but were pipped to the post.

With Phillips set to join a strong midfield lineup at West Ham, including the likes of James Ward-Prowse, Tomas Soucek, and others, Hammers fans can look forward to an exciting season with potential Champions League and Europa League spots in their sights.
