Leicester City handed Patson Daka boost ahead of Birmingham City after AFCON involvement

Following Zambia’s elimination from the group stages of the Africa Cup of Nations, Patson Daka will be making his way back to Leicester City. The team’s loss against Morocco on Wednesday night sealed their fate in the competition, prompting Daka’s return to England.

Although disappointed with the result, Leicester City will welcome back Daka, who had been in fine form before departing for international duty. His return will provide manager Enzo Maresca with more options up front, especially as Jamie Vardy has recently made a comeback from injury.

Daka’s return may see him miss the upcoming FA Cup clash against Birmingham City but should make him available for the Championship game against Swansea City. With Daka’s return and Vardy’s recovery, Leicester City’s attacking options are looking stronger as they continue their season.
