Leicester City are keen to strengthen their midfield department before the January transfer window closes in little over a week and have identified some key targets, according to the latest reports.
It was first revealed by Calciomercato that the Foxes were interested in signing Internazionale midfielder Stefano Sensi who is out of contract with the Italian giants at the end of the season.
This was backed up by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano who revealed that Leicester had escalated their pursuit of the Italy international as a result of losing Cesare Casadei since the youngster was recalled from his loan spell by Chelsea.
However, it was reported this week by Gazzetta dello Sport, via Sempre Inter, that Leicester City will have to wait until at least next week to sign the 28-year-old as Inter are keen to hold onto the player for this Sunday’s fixture against Fiorentina due to suspensions to both Nicolo Barella and Hakan Calhanoglu.
Enzo Maresca’s side failed to extend their lead to ten points over second-place Ipswich Town on Monday following an 89th-minute equaliser from the visitors’ Jeremy Sarmiento, keeping the gap between the two clubs at seven points.
Following the draw at the King Power Stadium, The Athletic released an update on Leicester’s transfer pursuits, claiming that the former Premier League champions could sign Coventry City midfielder Callum O’Hare this winter.
O’Hare’s contract runs out at the end of the season but the Sky Blues reportedly tabled a new three-year deal in the hopes of securing his future with the club. However, this offer has yet to be accepted by the player himself, leaving Leicester City with a chance of signing him.

This would be a massive blow to Coventry’s chances of earning a place in the playoffs, particularly since O’Hare has registered seven goal contributions in 16 matches under Mark Robins this season.
However, signing O’Hare makes a lot more sense if the deal can be pulled off than bringing Sensi to the club given that the former is tried and tested in the Championship and in English football.
