Ed Aarons reported on Twitter that Said Benrahma is interested in a move to Lyon after West Ham accepted a £15m offer. However, the deal is being held up by agents’ fees, with Lyon still hopeful of reaching an agreement before the deadline on Thursday.
It has been apparent throughout January that Benrahma’s time at West Ham was coming to an end, with the question being not if he would leave but where he would go. Several clubs, including Saudi clubs, Marseille, and Lyon, have been linked with the player, but Lyon made the first serious move by matching West Ham’s asking price and having their bid accepted.
West Ham are counting on this money to bring in a new forward before the transfer deadline, with Jota and Ibrahim Osman being strongly linked. However, if Benrahma doesn’t leave, it could be difficult for West Ham to secure a deal.
It seems that Benrahma and West Ham are poised to go their separate ways in the coming days, making it a situation worth keeping an eye on.
