According to Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham Hotspur is closely monitoring Atalanta midfielder Ederson, but they have not yet made a decision regarding their summer targets.
Ederson has seen significant improvement since joining Atalanta 18 months ago, establishing himself as a key player under Gian Piero Gasperini’s midfield. The 24-year-old Brazilian is a versatile player, excelling in various midfield roles and has scored six goals in all competitions this season.
While there were reports that Ange Postecoglou’s team considered making a move for Ederson in the January window, no offer was made by Spurs. It remains to be seen if they will reignite their interest in the midfielder at the end of the season.
However, Romano has suggested that acquiring Ederson next summer would require a significant investment, as Atalanta is unlikely to allow key players to leave for a low price. He believes that Tottenham is closely following the player but added that it is too early to determine their targets for the summer.
It is anticipated that Tottenham will be looking to bolster their midfield, especially with the potential departures of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Oliver Skipp. In any case, it is expected that Spurs will be active in the transfer market.
