SPURS TARGET: Scouts from Spurs have been eagerly monitoring a £26m-rated centre-back in all of his recent matches.

Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly considering a summer move for Bologna’s young talent, Riccardo Calafiori, following the impressive displays by the Italian centre-back in recent weeks. While Tottenham has already bolstered its defensive line with the signing of Radu Dragusin from Genoa in January, Calafiori is also believed to be within the Lilywhites’ sights.

Currently, the 21-year-old has been gaining attention across Europe with his outstanding performances since transferring from Basel to Bologna last summer. Notably, Calafiori’s impressive form has drawn interest from various Serie A clubs, including AC Milan, Napoli, and Juventus. According to reports, Tottenham has actively sent scouts to watch Calafiori in Bologna’s recent matches, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with the club finding his performance praiseworthy.

Reports also suggest that Calafiori could be available for a transfer fee of approximately €30m (£25.6m) next summer. It has been mentioned that Tottenham is also keeping a close eye on several other promising young talents across Europe, with the assistance of their consultant, Fabio Paratici, who has a strong understanding of the Serie A market.

As the upcoming transfer window approaches, Tottenham is evaluating and monitoring a number of young players, potentially considering how to further strengthen their defensive options. However, the decisions will likely also depend on a variety of factors such as the performance of Dragusin, who recently joined the club, and the readiness of the young prospects like Ashley Phillips for a first-team role next season. Therefore, Tottenham’s pursuit of Calafiori or any other potential transfers is still subject to various considerations and assessments.
