West Ham flattened as Brighton strike full agreement to sign electric winger; medical passed, arrival date set

Brighton has managed to succeed where West Ham failed, securing an agreement to sign highly sought-after winger Ibrahim Osman. The details of the deal, including the amount they will pay and his expected arrival, have been disclosed.

During the winter transfer window, West Ham aimed to add a new left winger to their squad. Although they were able to offload Said Benrahma and Pablo Fornals, they were unable to secure a replacement for the forward line, specifically on the left wing.

West Ham made attempts to acquire Jota from Al-Ittihad and Ibrahim Osman from Nordsjaelland. Despite submitting a bid of €18m-plus for Osman, it was ultimately rejected.

Osman, a 19-year-old right-footer, garnered interest from several Premier League teams, including Brighton and Crystal Palace, as reported by Ben Jacobs. It has now been revealed by David Ornstein of the Athletic that Osman will be joining Brighton in the Premier League next season, with a ‘full agreement’ in place with both the player and Nordsjaelland. Osman has already completed a medical examination.

Brighton will pay Nordsjaelland €19.5m (approximately £16.6m), and as the January window has closed, Osman will have to wait until the summer to make his move to the English south coast.

Following in the footsteps of fellow Ghanaian Simon Adingra, both players have progressed through the Right to Dream academy in Ghana before joining Brighton after a brief tenure with Nordsjaelland.

Brighton has demonstrated their prowess in the transfer market and their ability to nurture young talent, positioning themselves as an exceptional club for rising stars.

Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi will be optimistic about Osman’s potential impact at the club and will eagerly anticipate his development. It is likely that West Ham will also closely monitor Osman’s progress at Brighton.
