SAD NEWS: Liverpool and Tottenham set to miss out as David Beckham enters advanced talks to sign £6m player

According to César Luis Merlo, David Beckham’s Inter Miami is on the verge of finalizing an agreement with Argentinos Juniors for the acquisition of the talented midfielder Federico Redondo, a move that is likely to disappoint Liverpool and Tottenham.

Merlo reported that Inter Miami is currently in advanced negotiations to secure Redondo’s transfer for an estimated amount of $8 million, which Argentinos Juniors is reportedly willing to accept. This development puts a potential transfer to Premier League outfits Liverpool and Tottenham at risk. Both clubs had shown interest in recruiting the 21-year-old Argentina U23 international, expressing a desire to add his defensive midfield skills to their respective squads.

Educated at Argentinos Juniors, Federico Redondo has been making a name for himself as a stylish, ball-protecting No.6 midfielder, exhibiting promising talent much like Inter Miami’s own Sergio Busquets. While Redondo has not been prolific in terms of goal-scoring, with only two goals in 58 career appearances, his proficiency in protecting and progressing the ball from deep-lying midfield positions has sparked interest from clubs across Europe and now in the United States with Inter Miami.

Born on January 18, 2003, Redondo is the son of former Real Madrid and Argentina midfielder Fernando Redondo. Standing at a height of 6ft 2in (1.88m), he possesses the physical attributes and technical abilities that have attracted the attention of top clubs.

With Inter Miami seemingly close to securing the services of the highly-rated Argentine, it appears that both Tottenham and Liverpool face disappointment in their pursuit of Federico Redondo. His diverse skill set, combined with his age and potential, makes him an exciting prospect for any club, further accentuating the setback for the English Premier League sides.
