During the Boston Celtics’ match against the Washington Wizards, coach Joe Mazzulla tried a unique approach to motivate his struggling team. Following their 133-129 comeback win, Mazzulla admitted to reporters that during the third quarter, he attempted to lighten the mood by sharing a few jokes with his players. Refusing to disclose the jokes due to their inappropriate nature, Mazzulla’s unorthodox tactic appeared to have had some effect as the Celtics managed to outscore the Wizards 36-16 in the third quarter. However, some players, like Jaylen Brown, were unimpressed, as they were not in a joking mood while trailing. Though the Celtics ultimately lost in the fourth quarter, Mazzulla’s unconventional methods have proven successful in the past and with a record of 40-12, it’s hard to deny their effectiveness.
