Return date for Leicester City star after international duty

According to a report from Leicestershire Live, Iheanacho will not be featuring in Leicester City’s midweek clash with Sheffield Wednesday, but could potentially make his return in time for the weekend. The team has been without the striker for their last seven games, a period in which they’ve recorded five wins, one draw, and one loss.

During this time, Iheanacho had joined up with the Nigerian national team to participate in the Africa Cup of Nations tournament. Despite their defeat in the final to hosts Ivory Coast, in which Iheanacho played a total of 29 minutes, he is set to return to Leicester to rejoin his club teammates.

Even though Iheanacho will not be available for the Sheffield Wednesday match, his potential return for the upcoming game against Middlesbrough will be a significant boost for the team. While they have managed without him in recent matches, having him back will provide greater options and competition for places in the squad, adding depth to the attack.

Leicester City should be able to manage without him against Sheffield Wednesday, as they currently occupy opposite ends of the table. However, the upcoming weekend fixture against Middlesbrough is expected to be a tougher test for the Foxes. Middlesbrough are looking to bridge the gap and secure a place in the play-offs, and having Iheanacho back in the squad for this game would be far more advantageous.

This potential return of Iheanacho will undoubtedly be welcomed by the team and coach Enzo Maresca, as it will give them added firepower and options up front. His presence will provide an additional attacking threat and further strengthen the team’s chances of securing a positive result against tough opposition like Middlesbrough.
