Journalist expects Tottenham to permanently offload 23-year-old this summer
Dean Jones predicts that Tottenham Hotspur will sell Bryan Gil next summer to create space for new attacking additions. Gil has struggled to secure a spot in the Tottenham lineup since joining the club two and a half years ago, remaining on the fringes under Nuno Espirito Santo, Antonio Conte, and now Ange Postecoglou.
While many fans expected Gil to leave on loan last month, he remained at Hotspur Way. Postecoglou praised his efforts in training and suggested he could feature in the team in the coming months. However, with key players returning from injury and Tottenham not competing in any cup competitions, Gil’s chances of playing seem slim.
Jones believes that Spurs are already looking at potential wingers for next season, indicating that Gil’s departure is imminent. The journalist thinks that Gil has not lived up to expectations and will likely be sold to make room for a new attacker.
It is anticipated that Gil will request to leave at the end of the season to seek regular game time elsewhere, despite feeling comfortable among the Spanish-speaking contingent at Tottenham. This move would be in his best interest in terms of advancing his career.
