“ZERO IMPACT: Kieran McKenna sends promotion message

Kieran McKenna, manager of Ipswich Town, expressed that wins for Leeds United and Southampton had no impact on his team after their 2-1 victory over Swansea City. Nathan Broadhead and Conor Chaplin scored in the first half, securing the Tractor Boys’ second away win in four days and keeping them in the race for automatic promotion in the Championship.

McKenna stated, “I know those wins had zero impact on me, that’s the honest truth. Sometimes you worry things like that will infiltrate the group and they will worry about other teams’ results. I don’t get any sense of that from the group whatsoever. They share my feeling that they are doing incredibly to be as competitive as we have been at this level.”

Looking ahead to their game against Rotherham United, McKenna emphasized the team’s focus on their own performance and the need to continue fighting for success at this level. He praised the team’s brave football and strong organization in limiting their opponent’s opportunities, highlighting the need to maintain this level of performance.
