Jamie Carragher, former Liverpool defender, has lauded Jarrad Branthwaite, who is reportedly a transfer target for Tottenham Hotspur. Since his appointment as the head coach of Tottenham in June, Ange Postecoglou has been making changes to the team’s defensive options, bringing in new players like Micky van de Ven and Radu Dragusin. Meanwhile, Everton’s Branthwaite has caught the attention of top clubs like Tottenham and Manchester United, as well as Real Madrid, Arsenal, and Chelsea. The 21-year-old defender made headlines when he scored the equalising goal against Tottenham earlier this month. Carragher praised Branthwaite’s talents, especially in a league where there are numerous young, talented defenders. Despite Tottenham’s defensive options, Carragher believes there are other positions that need strengthening before another central defender is brought in.
