PAINFUL: £17m Leicester City star is likely never to put on a Foxes shirt again

After signing with Leicester City for a reported £17 million last January, Victor Kristiansen may be ready to move on just 13 months later.

Despite only making 14 appearances for the team since transferring from Copenhagen, the 21-year-old was loaned out to Italian side Bologna in the summer after realizing he didn’t fit into new boss Enzo Maresca’s plans for a back three and wingback system.

Since joining Bologna under Thiago Motta, Kristiansen has excelled, helping the team compete for a Champions League spot in Italy this season.

Kristiansen signed a five-and-a-half-year contract with Leicester last year, but it seems his future with the club is uncertain. Since breaking into the Copenhagen first team, he made 70 appearances for the Danish Superliga champions and gained experience in the Champions League and Europa Conference League.

After a promising start with Leicester, a change in management left Kristiansen out in the cold, as Maresca’s tactics didn’t align with his abilities. This prompted his move to Bologna, where he has found success as a left-back.

With limited game time at Leicester, Kristiansen’s decision to seek opportunities elsewhere has paid off, with the possibility of a permanent move to Bologna and European football in sight. While this may be a loss for Leicester, recouping their investment is likely and Bologna sees the signing as a wise investment.
