Expressing his surprise at making the switch to Everton, Coady said, “The Everton one was strange because I never expected to leave Wolves. I loved my time there and was the captain. I had been away with England and then when I came back, I could feel something wasn’t right.” He further added, “So it was a strange one that summer, and I ended up moving. Wolves did what they did, and I got the opportunity to sign for Everton.”
During his time at the club, Coady expressed his fondness for Everton, saying, “It was brilliant, I loved it. People say to me now, how did you do that? You supported Liverpool. But I had played against Liverpool so many times, and I was that desperate to win against the team I supported.”
Despite his contribution during a loan spell where he featured 25 times in the Premier League and formed a solid partnership with James Tarkowski, Everton ultimately decided against making his move permanent. This decision was supported by the exceptional performances of 21-year-old Jarrad Branthwaite, who has attracted the attention of some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
